The Ndola Squash Club Junior Foundation
FurnCity sponsors a free weekly junior squash group lesson at the Ndola Squash Club – incredibly supported and managed by Felix Chilufya, every Saturday morning.
Up to 50 kids come for a lesson and some healthy exercise.
FurnCity ensures that all kids have equipment and racquets for the game, and Felix ensures they develop the skills and life lessons required for them to become healthy, happy young people!
FurnCity is occasionally also able to supply food giveaways, surprise hampers or other contributions, which has helped keep the interest strong.
Felix is excited about the interest this Foundation is generating in squash in Ndola’s community, as well as the talent and skills he’s been able to discover in these kids.
We are excited to watch this grow and prosper.
The FurnCity/Presidential/Moses Mkhari Charity Garden
Our warehouse premises also houses a huge charity garden, where we grow vegetables, fruit and grain for the benefit of the local community.
We focus mainly on donating to Noma’s Old Age Home, and ensuring that the residents there get regular, healthy, fresh vegetables and fruit added to their diet.
We harvest rainwater off the warehouse roof, and use the beautiful soil and weather we have, to regularly hand over bumper crops to Noma’s Old Age Home as well as a nearby orphanage.
